EXHAUSTED !!!!!
I'm back from Asylum, my first Convention ever and maybe my last one... Yeah WHAT A MESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to start with the negative part, but it's hard to forget THAT part 'cause seriously it kinda ruined the fun. Let's do the maths :
- 3 hours to queue for registration (who told me again that it was gonna be very fast and last only a few minutes ??)
- 1,5 hours for my J2 squeeze
- 2 more hours to queue to get things that were supposed to be in our "packs" but were not 'cause nothing has been prepared before...
And that's only for the first day... I'm not talking here about the 2 hours queuing for each autograph (that makes 4 hours for 2 autos...) and blablabla !!!!!
BUT !!!
The guests were fantastics on stage they were hilarious. Misha is my new best friend since he made me laugh to tears on his last panel on Sunday evening. Jensen and Jared were very nice as usual, Jensen was very relaxed on stage Saturday morning even if the rest of the time they seemed kinda lost in front of ALL these fans.
That's my feeling about the con, because there were WAY TOO MANY people, everything had to happen very very fast, so I felt like a number, a piece of meat and nothing else. Jensen and Jared were still looking at you in the eyes when they were saying "thank you" or whatever but it was still pretty rushed.
So as for my own experience, for the J2 squeeze, I had the chance to talk to them a little bit. When I entered the room, the first thing that caught my eyes was Jensen's eyes ! They were all red and tired (and not just because of his surgery). He was dead on his feet. So when it was my turn, the photographer had to stop for 30 seconds to do I don't know what and I said to Jensen and Jared : "Don't worry, the queue is not that long anymore". Then Jensen looked at me and said with a very big smile "Oh Yeah ???" and he said "How many ? Like 20, 30 people ??" (hoping for 20) and I said "Uh no, more like 70 to 100" (we were 600 to have photos for that J2 squeeze to give you an idea) and he called Jared and said "OMG Jared did you hear that ? 100 people to come again" then Jared laughed like he does with all his body and then Jensen said something like "I'm never gonna be able to do that" and then it was time for the photo which took me by surprise and so I ended glued to Jensen and Jared is so far away from me on that pic that it's like he's not even on the pic !! Ah ah I'll post my pics later when I'll have the scans. Then I left put my hand on Jensen's shoulder and said "good luck" and he said pretty loudly (cause I was leaving the room) "thanks for the update". And yep that's it, first connection with the boys done !!
Then on Saturday my luck left me and in that huge huge mess I missed my photo shoots that were supposed to happen that day : jensen, jared and Misha. I only got the photo group shot and my autograph with jensen. There I gave my guitar picks to Jensen and he thought that it was a pretty cool gift and he was still saying that to the guy from the staff next to him when I left the room.
Sunday : got all my photoshoots done finally and I gave myself priority this time. If that's the game they want to play, I'll play, I'll play... So yeah I was almost first for everything. Everything happened very fast. Same thing happened for Jared's auto, he really liked the guitar picks ;o).
I was able to pass through security miraculously just after Jason Mann's concert and gave him personally the guitar pick too. He was happy with it and said he really appreciate it. I'm kinda proud of myself for this one, 'cause if I didn't try to pass through security I would not have that luck.
All in all it all end well with everything I wanted (even if I just hate my face on quite all my photoshoots), but will I go to Asylum next year ?? THE ANSWER IS NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO WAY EVER EVEN IF THEY PAY ME !!!!! I'm sorry for those who will say "oh yeah it was a mess but we had so much fun and we got to see the boys". Well for me the HUGE MESS ruined everything. I hate fighting to get something I paid. They canceled the end of the goup photo shoot (luckily I got mine) 'cause they didn't have time anymore to do it and people will get refund. Well, hello ??? I'm not here to get refunds, I'm here to get my photos !!! So that's why the next day, I fought like every one else to be the first to all my photoshoots. Before that I was a nice little girl listening to what the staff was telling her, and I didn't get my photos, so the next day, I was a warrior !! ;o) No joking, I hate having to fight for something that's due to you cause you paid it !!!
So yeah no, I won't go back to Asylum, I still wanna go to a con in the US, maybe Chicago 2010.
I'm sure I have so many things to say about that con, but right now I'm gonna try to find some pics and videos from the best moments of this con ;o) I'll post more tomorrow I guess !!!
OH, yeah if you're still there reading this I MET SOME GREAT PEOPLE THIS WEEK : NATACHA, CORINNE and FREDERIQUE THANKS A LOT FOR SHARING THIS CRAZY TIME WITH ME. WITH YOU ALL IT WAS A LOT EASIER ;o)))
